Overview:
Will work on developing internal and external applications for Used Books Marketplace business.
Responsiblities:
Support existing and develop new tools for external Sellers that list their inventory on BN.com. (i.e., tools for large and small sellers of used, rare and out of print books)
Work on various buyer facing sections of the BN.com that deal with Used Books
Analyze and improve existing backend processes
We provide all Software Developers with the ability to participate in the entire software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, development, testing (QA), deployment and documentation.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to overall design and software architecture, and implement "best practices in Software Engineering.
You will also have the opportunity to investigate new technologies and approaches to address business needs and improve existing systems.
Qualifications:
2+ years experience developing .NET web-based applications on the Windows platform in a production environment.
Expert in C# and Microsoft .NET framework 2.0+ Strong understanding of architecture, design patterns and best practices in software engineering.
Knowledge of and experience with ASP.net, XML/XSLT and MS SQL Server
Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
Proven ability to learn new programming languages and keep abreast of the latest web and .NET technologies.
Experience with Agile development practices (Continuous builds, TDD etc.), UML or dynamic languages a plus.
BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Physics (or equivalent experience).
